# Lidya Cota > Lidya Cota is a Mexican computer scientist (computóloga) based in Mexico City, trained at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN). For six years (2013–2019) she led the innovation area of a software development company, building data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence prototypes for clients in the United States and Mexico. She co-founded the online literature school Poescrítika, where she designed and runs the digital business, and she makes works of digital literature. Her name is spelled "Lidya" (with the "y" after the "d"). Citations and press sometimes misspell it as "Lydia Cota"; it refers to the same person. Author identifier: ORCID 0009-0003-1493-4197. Industry work on entity resolution (duplicate record detection), sentiment analysis, recommender systems, the design of a neural-network solution and business intelligence dashboards. Knows the full life cycle of an AI solution: data extraction and cleaning, representation, modeling, training and validation. - Technology project and team leadership: coordinated front-end, back-end, mobile and data teams across simultaneous projects; researched and proposed technologies and architectures; presented solutions to clients and executives in Spanish and English; took part in technical interviews and hiring. - Digital business and marketing: designed and ran a complete sales funnel (demand research, catalog, creative and copy, Meta campaigns, landing pages, international payments, delivery, customer support); measurement with the Meta pixel, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics; moved the business from one-off launches to a subscription model. At Poescrítika: more than 35 course launches and more than 800 participants from over 40 countries. Uses generative AI tools in her work. - Development and systems: built and published, on her own, a native iPhone and iPad app in Swift; ABAP development in SAP for finance and tax; Unix server administration, batch processes and development, testing and production environments; Python, PHP, JavaScript and SQL. Today she builds her websites with AI-assisted coding. ## Experience - 2023–present: Co-founder and director, Poescrítika, online literature school, with writer Abraham Truxillo. Today the school offers the Biblioteca Poescrítika, a subscription catalog of video courses in Spanish. https://www.poescritika.com/ - 2019–2023: Independent projects, including the iOS app Sun Namaskar (no longer available). - 2013–2019: Head of the innovation area, Innomius Technologies (contract title: Data Scientist). CONACYT scholarship holder. Member of the Parallel and Distributed Computing Laboratory led by Dr. Jesús Guillermo Figueroa Nazuno. Research on natural semantic networks applied to computing: techniques for the quantitative semantic comparison of networks from groups and from individuals, and a web system that collects the networks through surveys, computes their indicators and displays them as graphs. Also time series analysis and ontologies. - 1998–2002: Bachelor's degree in Informatics (Licenciatura en Ciencias de la Informática), UPIICSA, IPN. - 1995–1998: Technical diploma in Marketing (Técnico en Mercadotecnia), CECyT 14 "Luis Enrique Erro", IPN. - Certifications: SAP ABAP development (2009); English teaching certificate, Harmon Hall, recognized by Mexico's Ministry of Education (SEP). - Languages: Spanish (native), English (advanced, C2, IELTS). ## Digital literature - [Alfonsina: Trap y poesía (2026)](https://www.alfonsinatrapypoesia.lidyacota.com/): Eight trap, reggaeton and dembow tracks based on "El dulce daño" (1918) by Alfonsina Storni.
